Inventing is more than filling in a document. Raw notes, materials, effects and variants become a technical model that you can view and edit. Whether you quickly prepare a draft from existing documents or develop the invention yourself step by step: both routes share the same technical core.

Both routes use the same drafting engine. They differ in how deeply you work on the invention.
Private Inventor: the full workspace
The visual invention workspace is fully interactive: connect building blocks, keep failed attempts, weigh up variants, continue working at any time with an AI budget and easy re-entry.

What happens to existing documents.
Presentations, reports, sketches and measurement data from the project become the basis of the invention instead of being typed in again. They turn into building blocks with features, working principles and open questions, which you confirm and complete.

Switching from the Wizard to the workspace.
If you start with the Wizard, you should be able to switch to the invention workspace later without starting over: your invention and the work done so far are kept. Crediting the Wizard is planned. We will announce the terms at market launch; the plans are on the plans page.
How the invention workspace works.
The open canvas is the heart of the Private Inventor license. The image shows the real interface using the example of an ice-free evaporator for air-to-water heat pumps.
When the canvas fills up, one click rearranges the building blocks. AI and algorithms help with structuring and developing further; the thinking stays with you.
Inventors and co-inventors.
Inventing is often teamwork. In ErfinderWerk you can trace who contributed what, and the states of an invention are kept as versions.
The invention disclosure is prefilled from the Idea Space, with co-inventors and shares. These shares are a proposal for discussion. They are not automatically confirmed legally; the people involved make the final decision.
Research and draft review.
The research uses public registers and the web. We do not evaluate patent families or legal status, so the results do not replace a complete search by experts. They do not confirm that you are free from infringing third-party IP rights.
Drafts are produced in German. One AI pass over the entire document shows gaps; the result is a draft, not a filing.
Keeping an eye on remuneration.
The remuneration calculator calculates according to the German guidelines and helps you assess an offer: over the years, per inventor and per year. The anonymous quick check needs no account and no detail of the invention. Both are aids, not binding calculations; the law, your agreement and your advisors remain authoritative.

When can I use ErfinderWerk?
Market launch is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. On the waitlist you will be among the first to know when it starts.
Does ErfinderWerk replace a patent attorney?
No. ErfinderWerk organizes your invention, works it out and prepares the documents. You file the application yourself or through your patent attorney. ErfinderWerk does not provide legal advice. It cannot give a final statement on whether an invention is patentable or whether an IP right will be granted. Its assessment is based solely on the data entered and the results of the patent search.
May I use ErfinderWerk with ideas from my job?
Clarify this with your employer beforehand, because a service invention is usually a trade secret. The same applies to a customer's documents. For approval by IT, data protection or the patent department, there is the data sheet.
Does my invention stay confidential?
Yes. Our confidentiality commitment applies to everyone who uses ErfinderWerk and is available as a PDF that you can show to your employer or patent department. If you need a signed copy or a negotiated version, write to us.
How is billing handled?
There is a one-time package and a subscription model. The plans are on the plans page; we will announce prices at market launch. The waitlist is free.
What happens to my inventions if I stop?
They belong to you; we acquire no rights to them. You can export everything, and you can request deletion of your content at any time.
