Principle
This website does not embed any external services and does not use any analytics or tracking tools. Fonts are delivered by our own server; no connection is made to third-party servers. There is only one single, technically necessary cookie, described in the next section.
Cookie for short links
If you reach this website through one of our short links, for example from a post on a social network, we set the cookie ew_quelle. It contains only the code of the channel through which you arrived, for example li for LinkedIn, and no identifier of your person. If you then join the waitlist, we pass this code on with your entry so that we can see which measure brought it. The cookie is valid for 30 days and is not passed on to third parties. The legal basis is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act): the cookie is strictly necessary to provide the service you requested through the short link, namely the entry with a recognizable origin; consent is not required for this.
Server log files
When the website is accessed, the hosting provider IONOS SE processes technically necessary access data: the requested address, time, amount of data, referring page, browser type and IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in secure operation. The data is stored only as long as necessary for this purpose; the duration follows the specifications of the hosting provider, with whom a data processing agreement is in place. The hosting provider evaluates these log files statistically in anonymized form (IONOS WebAnalytics): the IP address is shortened immediately upon receipt, no cookies are set, nothing is stored on or read from your device and nothing is passed on to third parties; visitor data is deleted after eight weeks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Waitlist and newsletter
When you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the time of the entry and, if you select it, your interest (for example as an inventor, company, patent law firm, university or enterprise) and your country. We do not collect a name. We store the country only as a country code, if you select it in the country selector; the preselection based on your browser language is only a suggestion that you can change or remove. We use this information to inform you about the market launch of ErfinderWerk and to invite individual interested people to try it out in advance; the country also helps us plan the launch in individual countries. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in maintaining the waitlist; providing the information is voluntary. You can remove yourself at any time with an informal message to info@erfinder-werk.de. We will then delete your information unless a statutory retention obligation prevents this.
You can also unsubscribe without emailing us: in the “Waitlist” section of the home page you can unsubscribe from the newsletter or leave the waitlist. All you enter is your email address, and you will receive an email with a confirmation link; the unsubscription takes effect only when you click it. Every email from ErfinderWerk also contains both unsubscribe links. The website confirms every request in the same way, regardless of whether the address is registered with us.
At market launch, we send the people on the waitlist an email with a personal link. For this purpose, we store the times at which we sent you emails and the time at which you clicked the link. We do not use a tracking pixel or any other measurement of email opens.
We store the information in an access-protected administration area of our application. It runs on Microsoft Azure servers in the European Union; a data processing agreement is in place with Microsoft. If the application cannot be reached when you submit the form, our web server at IONOS SE holds the information briefly and forwards it later; as a fallback, the entry then reaches us by email in our mailbox at Microsoft. We do not pass the information on to third parties.
If you have also ticked the newsletter box, we send you an email with a confirmation link. You receive the newsletter only after you have confirmed. The legal basis for this is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. For this purpose, we store the time of your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, through the link in every issue or with an informal message to info@erfinder-werk.de. The waitlist does not depend on your consent to the newsletter.
Please do not send us any details of your invention through the form. Email is not a confidential channel, and a disclosure before filing can harm patentability.
Email sending and mailbox
We operate our mailboxes with Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. on the basis of a data processing agreement. The domain is managed by IONOS SE. Processing outside the European Union cannot be ruled out; where it occurs, it is based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
The application itself
This website does not run an application. It links to app.erfinder-werk.de; separate privacy information applies there and is available before first access. In particular, processing by language models is explained there, not here.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, contact info@erfinder-werk.de.
Irrespective of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia), Kavalleriestraße 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place on this website.
Effective date
This policy applies from October 10, 2026. If the processing changes, we will update it accordingly.
